Peer-led Support Groups

RESOLVE Peer-led Support Groups are informal opportunities for women and men experiencing infertility to connect with one another, to discuss their situations and to receive support from others who have had similar experiences or who are struggling with similar issues. Group moderators are volunteers and are not mental health professionals. Attendance is free. Please contact the group host before attending your first meeting.

Don’t see a support group in your area? Want to start a new group? The first step in the process is to attend a free one-hour TeleSeminar entitled “How to Start a Peer-Led Support Group”. After you attend that training you will be given instructions on next steps in the process. We hope to make this process as simple and straightforward for you as possible, while also ensuring that our hosts have been adequately prepared for their role as group leader.

Alexandria Decision Cross Roads Support Group

Meets on the third Thursday of the month from 7:30 to 9:00PM. - First meeting will be held in September.
Location: North Old Town, Alexandria VA, 22314
This group is for women only who are currently undergoing fertility treatment, who may be considering donor egg, may have had multiple miscarriages and who are considering adoption and do not know which direction they should be taking next.  This monthly group provides a relaxed and confidential setting in which to determine the best way to build your family. Arlington Adoption Support Group
Hosts:  Karen and Michael Souryal
Meets on the second Wednesday of the month.
The Adoption Support Groups offer support to individuals and couples who have an interest in, or are in the process of adopting.  Whether you are currently thinking about adopting or are in the waiting process, this group offers you the opportunity to connect with others in various stages of the adoption journey. This group will provide general information, address questions and concerns about adoption, and explore the emotional implications of adoption. Karen and Michael adopted their son in November 2006 from Silver Spring, Maryland at one month of age. Please contact Heather at support@midatlantic.resolve.org before attending your first meeting.

Charlottesville General Infertility Support Group
