Western Pennsylvania Volunteer Opportunities

Most local RESOLVE programs and services are run by dedicated volunteers who are experiencing, or who have experienced, the same life crisis you are facing. Our volunteers graciously donate their time and are the "key" to our region's continued success. If you have found our services as helpful as many others have, and if you would like to give something back to RESOLVE, please consider becoming a volunteer. Volunteering is a good way to meet new people and can be therapeutic. No previous experience is required for many of the positions, and if you are new to the infertility area, volunteering can be a comforting experience.

We have many exciting volunteer opportunities with varying levels of time commitment. Most can be done from home according your own schedule. We appreciate any time you have to give. Your help will allow RESOLVE to continue providing our valuable service to you and others in the infertility community. Come join our committed and fun group of volunteers! For more information or to volunteer for one of these positions, please contact info@resolve.org.

We are looking for help in the following areas:

Regional Volunteer Coordinator (4 hours per month): Are you good at working with people and helping them find opportunities that are a good fit for their talents? We need a volunteer to keep track of volunteer needs throughout the region and individuals who want to contribute their time and talent to helping others through RESOLVE.

Peer Led Support Group Hosts (3-4 hours per month) Help others who are just starting out on their path to parenthood, whether through infertility treatments or adoption, by sharing your own experience and expertise. Host and moderate a monthly discussion of infertility or adoption related topics. Training is provided. Some administrative responsibility (email notices reminding members of meetings, etc.) Involves attendance at a quarterly volunteer meeting. The first step in the process is to listen to the recorded audio training “How to Start a Peer-Led Support Group”.  After you attend this teleseminar, you will be given instructions on the next steps in the process. For a link to this recording, please send a request to info@resolve.org.

Peer-Led Support Group Coordinator (4 hour per month): Do you know just how important RESOLVE support groups are to surviving the infertility journey? The Peer-Led Support Group Coordinator answer questions about RESOLVE support groups, help connect members with a support group near them, and helps get new hosts trained.

HelpLine Volunteer (4 hours per month): Help others who are just starting out on their path to resolution, by sharing your own experience and expertise. Check messages on one assigned day per week. These messages will come from people throughout the Great Lakes region, and there may be 0-5 calls on a given day. You do not need a dedicated phone line or other technology to volunteer. In total, the time requirement is about 10-30 minutes per week depending on the call volume. Training is provided.

Local RESOLVE coordinator (4 hours per month): RESOLVE coordinators serve as a point of contact for others looking for information in their local area. This generally entails responding to emails and phone calls 2-3 times a month, and might include helping to start a PLSG if a new volunteer comes forward to host. RESOLVE coordinators are needed in Eastern Pennsylvania.
