Become a Project PROTECT Volunteer Today!

RESOLVE is thrilled to announce the launch of Project PROTECT!  Aptly named, Project PROTECT’s goal is to Preserve Reasonable Options To Effective Childbearing Treatment through state advocacy efforts.  Become a Project PROTECT volunteer today, and together we can stop any piece of anti-family legislation wherever it may strike.

Why Project PROTECT?

RESOLVE created Project PROTECT to build a state advocacy infrastructure that will ensure OUR voices -- the voices of the millions of women and men who suffer and have suffered from infertility -- are heard by lawmakers in each of the 50 states. We are recruiting and training volunteers in each state who will help monitor legislation in their state, meet with legislators, testify against bad bills, reach out to the local media, form coalitions with like-minded organizations, and be a voice for the millions of people facing infertility in this country.  Become an Advocate and truly be the voice of the infertility movement.

Why Now?

Legislation that could greatly impact the ability to seek infertility treatment is being introduced at an ever increasing rate.  It is important that our lawmakers hear firsthand how their decisions impact the ability of men and women to have something everyone deserves -- a family.   Most state legislatures are gearing up for a new legislative session in January 2012, and we want to be ready.

Who can Volunteer?

ANYONE!  Speakers, writers, planners, doers… the louder the voices, the bigger the impact!  Regardless of whether you have a little or a lot of time to give, we need EVERYONE’s voice.  This is where numbers matter!  So please, don’t think someone else will do this for you…you need to do it for yourself and for the millions who will come after you.

Why Volunteer?

So much related to infertility is beyond our control.  Becoming an advocate is a way to take back that control. It is incredibly empowering to be able to DO SOMETHING that will positively impact your own infertility as well as that of others.

I’M INTERESTED! WHERE CAN I FIND OUT MORE?

Bernadette Hunton is an attorney with the Maryland law firm Kollman and Saucier, P.A.. Diagnosed with infertility at the age of 26 and frustrated by her lack of access to family building options, she found her voice as an infertility advocate. She is grateful for the opportunity to work with other Project PROTECT volunteers to raise awareness about infertility. She is RESOLVE's National Advocacy Volunteer Coordinator.
