Blogger Information

Thank you for your interest about sharing information about public awareness campaigns and advocacy issues important to the infertility community.  You are an important messenger for the infertility movement. Below you will find information, helpful links and fun images to use in your blog.

About RESOLVE:

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, established in 1974, is a non-profit organization with the only established, nationwide network mandated to promote reproductive health and to ensure equal access to all family building options for men and women experiencing infertility or other reproductive disorders. RESOLVE improves the lives of women and men living with infertility. Read more.

Advocacy Day/Legislative Issues:

On April 25, RESOLVE is hosting it's Advocacy Day in Washington, DC. As a part of the infertility community, we need your help to make more people understand the issues facing all of us. One of the main issues facing the infertility community is access to affordable family building options. So many people diagnosed with the disease of infertility also face “financial infertility”—the inability to afford medically necessary treatments. Right now we are closer than ever to giving thousands of people the financial relief they need and deserve, but we cannot do it without your help. Together we need to urge members of Congress to support and pass the Family Act this year.

What you can do:

  1. Write a blog about the Family Act or Advocacy Day urging your readers to get involved
  2. Upload an Advocacy Day badge or logo to your blog
  3. Attend Advocacy Day and write about your experience

If you decide to write about Advocacy Day or the Family Act, please let us know by email. Send your blog post to mbeck@resolve.org. We will feature related posts on Advocacy Media/Blogs webpage.

National Infertility Awareness Week®

National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW) is a movement that began in 1989. The goal of NIAW is to raise awareness about the disease of infertility and encourage the public to understand their reproductive health. In 2010 National Infertility Awareness Week became a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health and Human Services. National Infertility Awareness Week will be held from April 22 to April 28.  This year's theme is "Don't Ignore Infertility."

For the past three years, RESOLVE has challenged the infertility blogging community to break the silence of infertility. Here are some ideas using this year’s theme, “Don’t ignore….”

  • Don’t ignore the signs of infertility.
  • Don’t ignore each other.
  • Don’t ignore people with infertility.
  • Don’t ignore the pain.

During NIAW, please use this form to submit your blog for consideration for the Hope Award for Best Blog.  Your blog post will be listed on the National Infertility Awareness Week website beginning on April 22nd.

What You Can Do Today:

  1. Write about NIAW now to notify your readers about this important week in the infertility community.
  2. Plan a special NIAW event.
  3. Register for a NIAW event.
  4. Upload the NIAW logo to your blog (NIAW badges will be available on April 16th).
  5. Prepare your "Don't Ignore Infertility" blog post.

 Walk of Hope

RESOLVE’s 2012 Walk of Hope is a 1-mile walk that recognizes the many ways in which families are built, supports local support and programs for the 7.3 million women and men living with infertility and raises public understanding of how the disease of infertility impacts families nationwide.

The Walk of Hope is being held in several locations across the country. Funds raised from the Walk support local RESOLVE programming which includes support groups and educational events, public awareness initiatives, and advocacy efforts to ensure family building options are available to all!

The name "Walk of Hope" embodies the emotion that most people living with infertility feel. They are hopeful their dreams of family come true. Some hope to simply find a peaceful resolution to their infertility journey. A Walk of Hope is an event that represents the infertility journey—a series of small steps, each one filled with hope and a reminder that no one should walk on this journey alone.
