Infertility Treatment Grants and Scholarships

Hope does exist for patients whose primary barrier to infertility treatment is the cost. Below is information about four nonprofit organizations that provide financial assistance to select infertility patients. For details, including application deadlines, please visit their websites. The listing of these organizations does not mean or imply an endorsement by RESOLVE. 

1. B.U.M.P.S Inc by Bringing U Maternal Paternal Success

  • Assists couples who are having trouble conceiving by issuing grants for fertility-related medical treatments
  • Candidate selection is based on compelling nature of an applicant’s circumstances,  fertility history, financial situation and other determining factors
  • Preference is given to those with no children

2. The Tinina Q. Cade Foundation

  • Tinina Q. Cade Foundation’s Family Building Grant provides up to $10,000 per funded family to help with costs medical infertility treatments and domestic adoption
  • Applicants must have a diagnosis of infertility from their doctor and must be legal, permanent U.S. residents

The application for the 2011 Tinina Q. Cade Foundation Family Building Grant is now online ( http://www.cadefoundation.org/page.php?id=4).    This grant can provide up to $10,000 to assist infertile families with costs associated with adoption or the medical treatment of infertility.  Applications will be available online until June 1, 2011 and are due by June 5, 2011.  Contact Information: http://www.cadefoundation.org

3. Fertile Dreams – The Embracing Hope Grant

  • Fertile Dreams selects applicants who have medical insurance, but are uninsured for fertility treatment, for grants of $10,000 that can be used toward an IVF cycle at any fertility clinic in the United States
  • Applicants are asked to supply a proof of income (with a copy of the last two IRS tax returns) and two most recent pay stubs from both partners
  • Applicants are asked to sign a copyright and media release giving Fertile Dreams full rights to share their story if selected and to be photographed at anytime throughout the treatment process

4. Pay it Forward Fertility Foundation

  • One grant is awarded annually
  • The foundation selects applicants who are uninsured for infertility treatments for a grant that can be used toward infertility treatment at a fertility clinic that is a member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and located in North Carolina
  • The grant is awarded to a couple in which the female partner is under the age of 40

5. The International Council on Infertility Information Dissemination (INCID)

  • Provides IVF scholarships to couples with financial and medical need
  • The selection committee selects couples based on cost-of-living, submitted paystubs, tax returns and a letter from their doctor recommending IVF as medically necessary
